The best movies cannot be measured in any manner since the term best is somewhat subjective. If a movie is watched by a lot of viewers, there will be some for whom the movie was excellent or very good whereas for some it would be simply a movie and the rest of the viewers may grade the same movie as sub standard. It is not just the name that can bring any movie of 2003 to be the best, there are a lot of factors within a movie that when interact in a true spirit carry the movie to the peak. Rating of the movie is determined by the best performance in each forms of art including acting, direction, script, screenplay, selection of artists, sound, dubbing, editing for that matter you name a thing and it generates an effect.
The proper way to judge a movie today is to perform a research which is a bit time and effort taking but may grade a movie to its actual worth. Commonly the films are graded best or dumb just by the display at the box office. However, a neutral and extensive research gives the precise ranks. Over a period of time it is known that the movies found once in the top list are the one which repeatedly show up on the top lists as an outcome of separated studies.
Claim of best movies is not just for the factors explained earlier; in truth it depends on the trend of the time as well. The movie “Night Mare on the Elm Street” or “The Predator” gave birth to a trend and the time has seen a lot of movies were published on similar lines yet not all of them could reach the level of best, only a small number of those movies did. There remains a consensus within many movie historians, critics, and the viewers that the movies once rated best are for sure among the most critically viewed, meaningful, and must-see films of their times. They are the movies which leave endless and memorable imprints on us. They amuse, satisfy, inform, and hit us subconsciously. Most of these best movies were produced long time ago and might have been neglected on first release but the time endured test proved them to be the best.
